2007-08 Carolina Panthers

Critics comment on the Panthers lack of depth and instability. This season it seems the stakes are all on John Fox and Jake Delhomme. Will Fox keep his cool and make up for his lackluster past season? While that is a problem, the underperforming O Line may be as well. Carolina needs to sharpen its focus to be able to go up against Jacksonville and Dallas. Success this season may come down on the linebackers as well, if they stay healthy. In spite of his small stature, Steve Smith will be one to watch, as he has proven to be an amazing talent as a WR. Dan Morgan is also a fantastic LB when he’s healthy. Panthers ticket buyers might have some surprises this season.

In the '06 off-season the Carolina Panthers made a number of moves that weren’t the easiest moves to make, but they were the right moves. They had to let go of All-Pro wide receiver Mushin Muhammad who was arguably the best receiver in the NFC last year, as far as stats are concerned. He wanted more money than the Panthers were willing to pay him so they had to part ways. It was a tough decision for the Panthers to make, but they should have some adequate replacements for him.
